Workday Finance Implementation Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced Workday Finance Implementation Project Manager to lead the successful deployment of Workday Financials within our organization. This role requires a deep understanding of Workday Financials, project management methodologies, and enterprise financial systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing all aspects of the Workday Finance implementation while ensuring alignment with business objectives, stakeholder expectations, and best practices.


Key Responsibilities:

Project Management & Execution:

  • Lead end-to-end Workday Financials implementation, from initiation through post-go-live support.
  • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and deliverables in alignment with business goals.
  • Manage project scope, risks, and changes to ensure successful implementation within time and budget.
  • Coordinate testing, deployment, and integration strategies with IT and business teams.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, policies, and data governance standards.

Stakeholder & Team Collaboration:

  • Act as the primary liaison between finance, IT, Workday consultants, and third-party vendors.
  • Partner with finance teams to gather requirements and translate them into system configurations.
  • Conduct regular status meetings and provide executive-level project updates.
  • Lead and mentor project teams, ensuring accountability and quality execution.

System Integration & Optimization:

  • Oversee integration of Workday Financials with other enterprise systems (ERP, payroll, procurement, etc.).
  • Drive process improvements and automation within Workday Financials to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Workday technical teams to configure, test, and troubleshoot system functionalities.

Training & Change Management:

  • Develop and implement user training programs to maximize system adoption.
  • Provide guidance and change management strategies to ensure a smooth transition for end-users.
  • Maintain documentation for system configurations, workflows, and best practices.

Required Qualifications:

Experience & Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience leading Workday Finance implementations, with at least two full-cycle implementations.
  • Deep knowledge of Workday Financials, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable/Receivable, Procurement, and Financial Reporting.
  • Strong understanding of financial processes, ERP systems, and cloud-based SaaS solutions.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects, budgets, and multi-functional teams.
  • Hands-on experience with Workday tools such as EIBs, Workday Studio, and Workday Reporting.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Experience working in an Agile, iterative development environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Workday Financials Certification is highly preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification.
  • Experience with Workday Adaptive Planning, Hyperion, or Oracle financial systems.
