Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Ping Engineer to lead and support two critical application migration projects:

  1. Migration from Siteminder to Ping Federate for Single Sign-On (SSO)
  2. Migration from Semantic to PingID for Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of identity and access management (IAM) technologies, particularly Ping Identity solutions, and a proven track record of successfully executing large-scale migration projects. This role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless transitions.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Siteminder to Ping Federate Migration (SSO):

  • Analyze the existing Siteminder SSO infrastructure, including policies, configurations, and integrations.
  • Design and implement a migration strategy to transition from Siteminder to Ping Federate.
  • Configure Ping Federate to support SSO for enterprise applications, ensuring compatibility with existing identity providers (IdPs) and service providers (SPs).
  • Integrate Ping Federate with various authentication protocols such as SAML, OAuth, and OpenID Connect.
  • Conduct thorough testing to validate SSO functionality, security, and performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues during and after the migration process.
  • Document the migration process, including configurations, workflows, and best practices.

2. Semantic to PingID Migration (MFA):

  • Assess the current Semantic MFA implementation, including dependencies and user workflows.
  • Develop and execute a migration plan to transition to PingID for MFA.
  • Configure PingID to integrate with existing authentication systems and applications.
  • Ensure seamless user experience during the migration, including user enrollment and authentication workflows.
  • Test and validate MFA functionality, ensuring compliance with security policies and standards.
  • Provide post-migration support, addressing any user or system issues.
  • Create detailed documentation for the MFA migration, including configurations and user guides.

General Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including security, infrastructure, and application teams, to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and team members.
  • Stay updated on the latest Ping Identity product updates, features, and best practices.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within the IAM ecosystem.
  • Ensure all solutions adhere to security, compliance, and regulatory requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 12 years of experience in identity and access management (IAM), with a focus on Ping Identity solutions.
  • Expertise in Ping Federate for SSO implementation, configuration, and migration.
  • Proficiency in PingID for MFA setup, integration, and migration.
  • Strong knowledge of Siteminder and Semantic technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with authentication protocols such as SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect, and LDAP.
  • Familiarity with REST APIs and scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation.
  • Experience with cloud-based IAM solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of security best practices and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ping Identity certifications (e.g., Ping Certified Professional).
  • Experience with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., CI/CD pipelines, Terraform, Ansible).
  • Knowledge of directory services such as Active Directory (AD) or LDAP.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
