Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Data Platform Engineer – Databricks (SaaS on AWS) for a contract assignment with one of our premier Financial Services clients in New York City, NY.

The ideal candidate will help engineer, scale, and optimize a Databricks-based data platform supporting enterprise analytics and AI/ML workloads within a regulated cloud environment.

Candidates must be local to the NYC area and possess strong hands-on experience with Databricks, Terraform, and AWS cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Engineer and scale a Databricks (SaaS on AWS) platform supporting enterprise analytics and AI/ML workloads
• Design and automate secure AWS cloud infrastructure using Terraform (Infrastructure as Code)
• Build and optimize production data workflows in Databricks
• Support platform performance, scalability, and reliability using AWS cloud-native database technologies
• Implement DevSecOps best practices across CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployments
• Maintain strong security and governance practices within a regulated financial services environment

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience in data platform engineering, cloud data engineering, or data infrastructure roles
• Strong hands-on experience with Databricks (SaaS on AWS) in production environments
• Deep experience with Terraform (Infrastructure as Code) for AWS infrastructure provisioning
• Strong expertise with AWS cloud-native databases such as Aurora, RDS, Redshift, or similar
• Strong knowledge of AWS fundamentals including S3, IAM, networking, and cloud security architecture

Preferred Skills

• Experience working in regulated enterprise environments, particularly financial services
