Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Data Center Migration Engineer to lead and support large-scale data center migration initiatives within a complex enterprise environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in infrastructure engineering, data center modernization, cloud technologies, migration strategy, and hands-on development. This role requires strong leadership capabilities, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to drive migration programs from planning through execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and execute enterprise Data Center Core Infrastructure build and migration strategies.
• Develop neighborhood alignment strategies and coordinate migration activities across business and technology domains.
• Identify and mitigate migration risks, dependencies, and sequencing challenges.
• Create and maintain integrated migration roadmaps, execution plans, and schedules.
• Align migration activities with major application releases and planned verification cycles.
• Design and implement data migration strategies for:
  • Databases
  • Object Storage
  • NAS Storage
  • Backup Systems
  • Unstructured User Data
• Assess and define migration approaches for non-standard hosting environments including:
  • Unisys
  • Teradata
  • IBM iSeries
• Evaluate multi-tenant applications and ensure resilience, scalability, and capacity requirements are met in target environments.
• Leverage data center architecture designs to improve resiliency and workload optimization.
• Lead infrastructure landing-zone build activities and ensure compliance with enterprise architecture standards.
• Collaborate with engineering, architecture, cloud, and operations teams to deliver successful migration outcomes.
• Perform hands-on coding and automation development to support migration, build, capacity planning, and progress tracking activities.
• Develop and execute testing strategies to validate migration readiness and successful deployment.
• Manage and coordinate delivery teams and infrastructure engineers throughout migration projects.

Required Qualifications

• 12+ years of Technology Infrastructure Engineering experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• 7+ years of experience working in large-scale distributed data center environments.
• 7+ years of experience leading infrastructure transformation or migration initiatives within enterprise organizations.
• 7+ years of leadership experience in fast-paced Agile environments.
• 7+ years of successful delivery experience managing complex infrastructure programs.
• 7+ years of software engineering, cloud engineering, or operational engineering experience.
• 7+ years of hands-on coding and automation development experience.
