Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled ETL Ab Initio Developer with strong experience in the Healthcare domain for a long-term contract opportunity. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting complex ETL solutions using Ab Initio for large-scale data integration and transformation projects. This role requires excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, along with a solid understanding of healthcare data models and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes using Ab Initio (GDE, EME, Co>Operating System, Conduct>It, Continuous Flows, etc.)
- Collaborate with data architects, business analysts, and other stakeholders to gather and understand business requirements.
- Translate business needs into high-performing ETL solutions with a focus on data quality, integrity, and performance.
- Work with large, complex data sets including structured and unstructured data.
- Analyze and optimize existing ETL workflows for performance tuning and scalability.
- Create and maintain technical documentation including design specifications, data flow diagrams, and data mapping documents.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare data privacy regulations.
- Participate in unit testing, integration testing, and system testing efforts.
- Support production deployment and provide ongoing support for existing ETL processes.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in ETL development with at least 8+ years of hands-on Ab Initio experience.
- Strong understanding of Ab Initio components like Graphical Development Environment (GDE), Co>Operating System, EME, and Conduct>It.
- Experience in data warehousing concepts and building data pipelines.
- Proficient in SQL, data modeling, and data profiling.
- Solid knowledge of healthcare data domains such as claims, providers, members, eligibility, and encounters.
- Experience with HIPAA regulations, EDI transactions (e.g., 837, 835), or HL7 standards is a plus.
- Familiarity with relational databases such as Oracle, Teradata, or SQL Server.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Experience with data governance, data quality tools, or metadata management.
- Healthcare payer or provider experience (e.g., working with payers like UnitedHealth, Anthem, etc.) highly preferred.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
