Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Lead Python Developer with 12+ years of overall IT experience for a 12-month W2 contract opportunity based in McLean, VA. This role requires strong hands-on Python development skills, technical leadership, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

⚠️ In-person interview is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of Python-based applications
• Provide technical leadership and code reviews for development teams
• Architect scalable, high-performance backend solutions
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, and DevOps teams
• Ensure best practices for coding, testing, security, and performance
• Troubleshoot production issues and drive root-cause analysis
• Mentor junior and mid-level developers

Required Skills & Experience

• 12+ years of overall IT experience
• Strong hands-on experience with Python
• Experience with frameworks such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI
• Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP preferred)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control tools (Git)
• Excellent communication and leadership skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in financial services or large enterprise environments
• Exposure to containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Agile/Scrum development experience
