We are seeking an experienced Lead Android Developer to join our team in Sunnyvale, CA, supporting a major retail client. The ideal candidate will lead the design, development, and maintenance of high-performance Android applications, ensuring seamless user experiences. This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days per week onsite.

Key Responsibilities:

✅Lead the design, development, and deployment of Android applications for a retail client.

✅Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, UX/UI, Backend) to define requirements and deliver scalable solutions.

✅Architect and optimize Android apps for performance, scalability, and security.

✅Mentor and guide junior developers, ensuring best practices in Kotlin/Java development.

✅Conduct code reviews, enforce coding standards, and troubleshoot complex issues.

✅Integrate with RESTful APIs, third-party SDKs, and retail-specific systems (e.g., POS, payment gateways).

✅Ensure app compatibility across devices and Android OS versions.

✅Implement CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment.

✅Stay updated with the latest Android trends (Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, etc.)

Required Skills & Qualifications:

✅12+ years of Android development experience with strong Kotlin/Java skills.

✅Proven experience leading a team of Android developers.

✅Expertise in Android SDK, Jetpack Components, MVVM/MVI architecture.

✅Experience with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and WebSockets.

✅Familiarity with retail/e-commerce apps (payment systems, inventory, checkout flows).

✅Strong knowledge of performance optimization, memory management, and security best practices.

✅Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Firebase).

✅Proficiency in Agile/Scrum methodologies.

✅Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (preferred).

Nice-to-Have Skills:

✅Experience with Jetpack Compose.

✅Knowledge of KMP (Kotlin Multiplatform).

✅Familiarity with retail analytics tools (Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics).

✅Contributions to open-source Android projects.

Work Arrangement:

✅Hybrid (3 days onsite in Sunnyvale, CA)

✅12-month contract with possible extension.
